Google Maps wrong turn strands German tourists in Australia's Cape York for over a week
Two German travelers spent more than a week fighting heat, mud, and crocodile country after a wrong turn from Google Maps sent them into a closed national park in remote Cape York. With no phone signal and their 4WD bogged, they camped in the car, then walked out through storms and snake country. Rangers say they made the right call. Google has removed the route and says it’s updating data sources.
